Springfield Right to Life Moves Office Across the Street from Planned Parenthood
Springfield Right to Life has moved its location to 536 N. Bruns Lane
(Suite 2) in order to be present for women and families that are seeking
guidance regarding the facts behind abortion. The new office is directly
across the street from the Planned Parenthood Abortion Facility.
“Springfield Right to Life is committed to informing the public on the
many choices available to those seeking abortions,” said Tim Moore, SRTL’s
President. Mr. Moore pointed to the many free or low cost alternatives to
Planned Parenthood that are available via such organizations a First Step
Women’s Center, or The Pregnancy Care Center, aid and training for moms
through Elizabeth Ann Seaton, or Beerlahai Roi, as well as Sangamon County
Health Department.
“We had been waiting for a while to move into the space. We wanted to be
easily available for those who are seeking abortions. We want families to
have an alternative source of information during such a critical decision.
We also wanted to be nearby for the many volunteers who come out to
quietly pray or peacefully protest the presence of Planned Parenthood’s
abortion facility in our community.
Our job is to continue to make the Springfield Community aware of Planned
Parenthood’s Operation in Springfield. In 2016, Planned Parenthood of
Springfield now expanded its abortions to include vacuuming the baby from
the uterus. In addition, PPIL distributes RU486, which is an abortion
pill that kills fetuses in-utero, many of which may already have a beating
heart. Heavy bleeding, nausea, vomiting, and painful uterine contractions
are common features of a process TIME magazine calls RU 486 “A painful,
messy, and protracted procedure.” About 2% of RU486 patients hemorrhage
and more than 1 in a 100 require hospitalization. An Iowa woman took RU486
and lost nearly 3/4 of her blood and likely would have died without
emergency surgery (http://www.nrlc.org/abortion/ru486/).
