Sample Letter to the Governor
Many pro-life supporters are upset that the state of Illinois is still allowing abortion clinics to perform abortions during a time when all non-essential businesses must stop operations. In response, individuals send letters to the Governor asking him to close the clinics.
Below is a sample letter. Please consider sending a letter on behalf of the pro-life movement.
“Governor JB Pritzker
Office of the Governor
207 State Street
Springfield, IL 62706
Dear Governor Pritzker:
The ongoing pandemic with the COVID-19 virus has been a serious challenge for all of us, and I appreciate your daily efforts to provide service and safety to your state’s constituency.  I am concerned, however, that the abortion facility in Springfield continues to operate as usual.  I also understand the same is true for the Hope Center in southern Illinois. There is no doubt that this is likely true for other similar facilities in this state. I know that you are a strong advocate for that industry.  However, hospitals in our state have canceled elective surgeries during this crisis pandemic. And as I understand it abortion is considered elective surgery by most medical personnel. Medical literature has indicated that there is no necessary need for intentional abortions. There are procedures used to address medical emergencies related to the mother’s and unborn child’s life-threatening circumstances during operations. To do everything to save the life of either party, the eventual result might be the loss of the child’s life.
I have heard that PPEs are used for the abortion process, and there has been a serious shortage of PPEs needed to handle the pandemic situation. Additionally, you have spoken about scouring the world for ventilators (and possibly other medical equipment?). If abortion procedures become medical emergencies, there could be a need for ventilators, especially with the lax standards by law passed for abortion activities in the past year. I question the necessity of keeping abortion facilities open during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Respectfully,”
